Hi, I am Sophia
I work as a project manager. I am a parent, and I live as an expat in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Canada wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new processes, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more intricate than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Forest Cedar Wisp
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site ENTAILS:
- Hands-on insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when something meaningful changes
This site DOESN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Canada goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Sophia
